Vedal Entreprenør is refurbishing Sophies Minde, a protected building at Carl Berners plass in Oslo, for the client Oslobygg KF with Enerhaugen Arkitektkontor as architect. The 13,200 m² building is being upgraded inside and out. It will house a kindergarten with more places than before, offices and district services for the Grünerløkka borough (Bydel Grünerløkka), a child and family health clinic, antenatal care, Oslohjelpa and assembly rooms. The building will become a community centre that serves as a hub for local services in the borough. Refurbishment work started in August 2023.
