Skiplum delivers BIM coordination, reality capture, modelling, visualisation and coordination for clients, contractors and design teams. What we are after is better collaboration, more consistent quality and fewer surprises on site. We also run the common data environments the projects sit in — Dalux, Forma, Byggnet, Interaxo, Speckle.We have worked as BIM coordinator on several new-build and refurbishment projects, delivering both the scans and the models. That is usually where the risk comes out of a build.
The brooch from Skiplum
In 2011, something unusual came out of a field at Skiplum in Sør-Fron, Norway — a gilded copper-alloy brooch from the early Middle Ages, most likely the second half of the 11th or 12th century.It depicts an animal with forelegs, hind legs and a wing, worked in a mix of Urnes and Romanesque style, which is what makes it interesting to art historians. It is 3.9 cm long, 3.0 cm wide and weighs 12 grams. A metal detectorist found it on cultivated land, and it is catalogued by the Museum of Cultural History in Oslo (catalogue no. C58123). Our logo comes from that brooch.
